$1,350,000 settlement in a wrongful death claim arising out of an action against a security guard company whose employees forcibly tried to remove a guest from an apartment and in so doing, wrestled him to the ground, sat on his body to hold him down and placed a choke hold on him causing his death.

$1,100,000 arbitration award in a medical malpractice claim arising out of left shoulder arthroscopy. Following the surgery, plaintiff’s left arm was placed in traction with the arm in a hyperextended externally rotated position.  The post-operative care rendered by defendant caused plaintiff to suffer a brachial plexus injury to his left arm. 

$1,000,000 settlement in auto v. pedestrian accident.  Plaintiff was hit in a crosswalk by defendant driver (who had bent over to pick up dropped spoon by child) and failed to come to complete stop.  Plaintiff was hit in her right leg and snapped her tibia and fibula.  She had multiple surgeries to repair the fracture.

$1,000,000 settlement in premises liability case against apartment building owner for allowing tenant to house, breed and sell pigeons on the property.  Plaintiff was another tenant of the building who contracted a bacterial infection from the pigeons known as chlamydia psittaci. Plaintiff then contracted pneumonia and subsequently gangrene and suffered the amputation and loss of his left hand. 

$800,000 settlement in wrongful death/medical malpractice case brought by surviving wife and daughter after 48 year old husband died of massive heart attack following his general practitioner’s failure to properly diagnose his condition.  The doctor told him he had the flu and sent him home with pain killers.  The man died while standing in line at the drug store. 

$750,000 settlement in wrongful death/medical malpractice case brought by surviving wife and children after husband died after contracting Aspergillosis (fungal infection) from aspergillus spores found to be present during hospital construction/renovation while he was in hospital for surgical removal of an acoustic neuroma (benign tumor) in his ear.   

$750,000 settlement of medical malpractice case arising out of a brain injury that occurred when the now 5 year old plaintiff was born.  The treating doctors and hospital failed to diagnose reduced amniotic fluid prior to delivery and subsequently failed to perform a cesarean section when the fetus showed signs of reduced oxygen and distress during labor.  The baby was subsequently born with brain damage and will suffer seizures and is developmentally disabled for life.  

$450,000 settlement in a personal injury case arising out of a vehicle/motorcycle collision.  Plaintiff was riding a motorcycle when he was hit by Town car limousine as they were driving on Pacific Coast Highway.  The impact caused plaintiff to be ejected to the rear where he landed on top of the hood of the Lincoln and was then dragged by the Lincoln, which still had the motorcycle trapped underneath its front bumper for about 93 feet. 

$375,000 settlement in medical malpractice action arising out of doctor’s failure to properly manage, care, and treat plaintiff’s diabetes and related renal problems.

$370,000 settlement in wrongful death action arising out of medical malpractice case.  Decedent was 50 years old when he underwent an unnecessary biopsy of his left lung.  Plaintiffs alleged that the surgery was not only unnecessary and negligently performed, but also that the biopsy was performed without consent and with inadequate post-surgical monitoring and follow-up resulting in the patient’s death. 

$345,800 trial verdict in medical malpractice case against doctors and radiology group who mixed up x-ray films and as a result misdiagnosed an abdominal aortic aneurism for which 61 year old plaintiff mistakenly and unnecessarily underwent surgery to repair. 

$175,000 settlement in dependent abuse and wrongful death case arising out of inadequate care at a nursing home where decedent was placed after she had a stroke. 
             
$159,500 settlement in elder abuse/nursing home negligence case where plaintiff’s 79 year old mother was neglected to point of death in a nursing home facility where she went to recover following a stroke.
